Mental Health and Diseases is a branch of medicine that deals with the examination, identification, treatment and prevention of problems seen in people’s emotional reactions, mental abilities and behaviors, and adaptation to the environment.

Mental Health and Diseases apart from these disorders; It also provides support and consultancy services on coping with stress, communication skills, marriage and adaptation problems, and problem solving methods.
For patients applying to our clinic; Services are provided in the areas of inpatient wards, general psychiatry outpatient clinics, emergency outpatient clinics, consultation-liaison and forensic psychiatry. Additionally, psychometric evaluations are made by our psychologists.
Our Mental Health and Diseases polyclinic serves all adult patients (over eighteen years of age) who apply to Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Health Research and Application Center with mental disorders. In our department, services are provided in the form of diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of patients with psychological, mental or behavioral complaints. Clinical interviews, examination findings, laboratory tests, psychometric evaluation tools and, when necessary, imaging methods are used for diagnosis. Identified disorders are treated with pharmacotherapy and/or psychotherapy. All evaluations and treatments are carried out in our polyclinic by faculty members and research assistant doctors in line with evidence-based medical practices and ethical principles. Our polyclinic provides service during working hours every weekday, except for Wednesday afternoon, which is the judicial committee day, and Friday afternoon, which is our training day.
We have an inpatient service with a capacity of twelve people for our patients who are suitable for inpatient treatment. Our service has semi-open psychiatric clinic conditions; Medication, individual psychotherapy and group psychotherapy are applied to our inpatients.
As Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Mental Health and Diseases; In the pre-graduation period, theoretical and practical training is given to medical faculty students in the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th grades. In the post-graduation period, there is a detailed, structured and regularly conducted specialist training program for research assistants in our clinic.
